In the hotel industry, we have a responsibility not only for the well-being of our guests, but also for the world of tomorrow.
As a family business in the heart of the Saxon Switzerland National Park, we know: forest means life. We All Live On it. That’s why we focus on environmentally friendly solutions, conserve resources, and consistently question old habits.
Sustainability is not a trend for us, but part of our DNA. At the Steiger Hotels, we work day after day to become more climate-friendly. For our children, our guests and the future of our unique region.
Our Guiding Principles
Plastic-Free & Sustainable
Disposable plastic has no place with us. Disposable slippers have even less of a place with us.
There are products that would have been better off never existing.
In our hotels, we do not use individual bottles. In the restaurant, we use glass straws, and if you have forgotten your bathing shoes, you can get reusable flip-flops from us.
No Daily Room Cleaning
We no longer automatically clean your room every day – but only when you want it.

This is how we save resources together. A mindful approach to the environment starts with small decisions. We are currently saving over 16,000 bathtubs of water as a result!

For several years, the Lerche engineering office has been supporting us with monthly energy reporting and ongoing advice on the way to our goal of operating the Steiger Hotels as regeneratively as possible.
